1,105 books into the hands of new readers through the MFCB Group Book Donation Drive 2026
Petaling Jaya, 9 October 2026: Between 7 and 30 September 2026, the Mega First Corporation Berhad (MFCB) Group Book Donation Drive 2026 collected 1,105 books. Every book has since been handed over to four organisations that will pass them on to new readers.
Employees from Group Corporate Office, the Resources Division (RCI Lime), the Packaging Division (Stenta Group and Hexachase Group), the Automotive Division (Bloxwich Malaysia Sdn Bhd) and the Property Division took part. Each Division gave to an organisation near its own operations:
- Books For A Better World: 542 books
- The Salvation Army Ipoh: 286 books
- Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Melaka: 168 books
- Tzu Chi Foundation Melaka: 109 books
Each recipient organisation will ensure the books are put to meaningful use. Books For A Better World, a social enterprise, keeps pre-loved books in circulation by redistributing them to community libraries and children in need. At Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Melaka, library staff will sort and evaluate the books before repurposing them for the wider community. Tzu Chi Foundation Melaka will channel the books to individuals and families who need them. The Salvation Army Ipoh, which operates children’s and aged care homes and a community service centre, will provide the books to the residents of its homes and its community programmes.
Giving usable books a new home, rather than letting them sit unused or go to waste, is a simple way to put circularity into practice. It is a principle we promote across the Group: keeping resources in use for as long as possible. And a book may cost little to give, but it can open up a whole new world for the person who receives it.
The drive is one of the community initiatives supporting our commitment to bring positive impact to 300,000 people by 2035.
